A Better Way to Plan Your. Open. World.
You told us you wanted a better tool for choosing and scheduling your sessions at Oracle OpenWorld. We listened. Now we're happy to announce the launch of a smoother, smarter way to create your entire schedule for the conference. Here are some highlights of the new Schedule Builder:
Recommended sessions: A recommendation engine powered by Oracle Data Mining provides a list of the sessions most relevant to you.
E-mail a session: Send your colleagues an e-mail about an interesting session right from the scheduler.
Improved user interface: Access session information directly from your calendar view. Add or remove sessions with one click. See multiple pop-ups of session information.
Other cool features: Build your Oracle OpenWorld agenda and export it to a calendar. Schedule personal activities or meetings with friends, colleagues, and partners. Check out the action at the Exhibition Halls.
To use the new scheduler, here's what you need to do: Register for Oracle OpenWorld. Take a short guided tour of the tool. Start scheduling. (Use Internet Explorer for full functionality and best results.)
And don't forget—to be certain you get a seat at your preferred sessions, be sure to sign up in advance with Schedule Builder and arrive at the sessions at least 10 minutes early.
Feel free to let us know what you think of the new tool.

Cool! Thanks. By the way, the link to the forgotten password gives me a 500 internal server error.

Here is another one: When I click on Email under Saved Agenda & Interest, I get a popup This functionality is disabled in the development environment.

Thanks for the feedback. I can not recreate the error message. Can you try again and let me know if you still get it?

I've found it quite impossible to add sessions to my schedule using Firefox or Safari on OSX. The little green button that's supposed to add the session does nothing.
And if saving a session to my interests, why is there no link from there to add it to my schedule?
Apart from that, this tool is much, much better than the previous one!

What about the option of inputting the day of the week and time slot in order to see all the sessions offered - to compare and choose? This filter was possible 3, 4 years ago. If it still exists, please explain how. If not, why not? Would seem to be much more convenient.
Thank you much.

I found the buttons to add a session to your calendar only work with Internet Explorer.
If I add a session to my calendar am I automatically registered?
Thanks

I used firefox3 on winXP and 99% of the functionality worked. Great job guys.
The only thing that didn't work consistently for me was in calendar view & looking at a "popup" session info button, the close button would often be overlapped by text and unclickable.
Am I right in understanding that signing up for a session is a "mini RSVP" in that it does have some bearing on whether or not we may attend a session? This will be my first openworld.

Hi Carl,
We recommend that you use IE as your browser when you log into Schedule Builder. Hopefully this will address the issue with not being able to add the session when you click on the green button.
I will try to see if we can update the tool so that you have the ability to add a session when you're viewing your session under "My Interest".
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi David,
Welcome to Oracle OpenWorld! ... and thank you for your feedback. I passed your comment along to my knowledgeable Schedule Builder contact, and here's her reply:
"We recommend you use IE as your browser. In the meantime, we will try to replicate the issue and address it.
You will have priority access to the session but you will need to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session and pre-enroll in it by adding it to your calendar."
I hope that answers your question.

Hi Pam,
If you added a session to your calendar, you are enrolled in the session. Keep in mind that in order to ensure you get access to the session, you will need to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session and enroll in the session, as you have done.

Hello!
I carry 4 consecutive years participating in Oracle Open World, but every year I notice there are fewer talks related to PeopleSoft financial modules that are my area of interest, such as modules for GL, AP, AR, AM, EX, KK, PC, RB, IN, Tools (query, nvisión) for meetings this year published until today will be all or even going to incrmentar listing?
Greetings!

Suggestion. When using the schedule builder I came across two MINOR annoyances.
1. The session timeout is too short. I searched on the database track and received a large result set. As a proceeded through the results and added them to my schedule I timed out. You cannot go through a long search results list without running into the timer.
2. The search results list is TOO narrow thereby restricting the visibility of the title. Since there is no horizontal scroll bar you must click on the title to see the more meaningful popup. I would like to be able to see the entire title in the search results without have to click on it first.

David, I have an update on how you can troubleshoot the issue you're having with the "popup" window and the close button overlapping with text. Here's the suggested workaround...
"when the text prevents the user from closing the text box, the user can use the resizing arrow at the bottom right hand corner of the balloon to resize the window until the text and button is seperated."
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback Tom. Your session should only timeout I believe after 20 minutes of inactivity, I verify and will update once I receive feedback.
We are challenged with real estate, that's why we are unable to display the full session title. We're looking to address that for next year.

Hi Mary,
I've been told that the 19 PeopleSoft Financial Management Solutions sessions listed in the content catalog represent the complete list of what Oracle will be presenting this year (no additional sessions will be added). There will, however, be 8 additional sessions presented by customers or partners. Hope this helps.

I actually don't like the schedule builder this year as much as previous years. My suggestions for improvement:
Maybe I'm getting old, but I thought some of these things were handled better by the SB in previous years. On the other hand, I do like the use of some new technology and believe that if some of these usability issues can be addressed, this version has more potential than those of the past.

Thanks Dan for sharing your sage (not old) feedback once again. In this case, it's especially helpful to get input from someone who has used various iterations of the schedule builder - and will be using it again in the future. I'm passing your advice along to the folks who can act on it. Hope you got your schedule finalized without much trouble.
