Oracle OpenWorld Wrap: Big PHP and Ruby Interest

After Oracle OpenWorld there has been little rest here in Oracle HQ.  The Thanksgiving vacation last week was definitely welcome.

The conference itself was just huge in all ways.  For dynamic scripting languages we held sessions; had hands-on-labs for people to play with PHP, Ruby and Ruby on Rails; had busy demo booths on the exhibition floor; did a podcast for Oracle Technology Network; met customers; met book publishers and authors; and held a number of discussions with business analysts.   I passed Stacey's bookstore yesterday and saw their Oracle Press books still on display in the window.  "PHP Web Programming" was proudly at front right.

Thanks everyone at Oracle for your help and to everyone I talked to at the conference - wow.

Now we roll into Christmas, which is funny here in this northern hemisphere: relatively cold, dark and we only get one day off.  I don't know why you all haven't emigrated to Australia.  There they throw a good barbie and get outside to enjoy summer and all their prezzies.  I guess here in S.F. at least I'll get some work done!
