Interesting read on the Eclipse vs. <insert your favourite IDE> debate

While using more than one IDE at a time, I'm always curious about this "This is the one and only {insert your topic here} the world needs" attitude of many people.

This helds true for programming languages, cars, operating systems, and IDEs, of course. Think of it, would you prefer to drive a Volkswagen only, when you could get a Maserati? I don't. Having Mercedes Benz only would be a nightmare, with all this Beta-Testing of the latest gadgets in automotive security (remember the last 1.5 million car recall?)

For me, using one thing because all the others do it, is a lack of personality. And btw, I'm using three different IDEs and am still dreaming of the fourth...

This inside story of Tim Boudreau might change your personal view on this particular religious war (Eclipse and nothing else), it hasn't change mine...
