Z/OS for Dummies

Hey Folks....
okay well, the summer is over, and so is my break from writing...though I have to admin, I wasn't pounding out the copy that much before anyway.

As the world of Legacy Modernization progresses, we are finding ourselves getting more and more integrated with customers and opportunities around this space.  Many of us know "what" a mainframe is, but it is often not much more than that. A few of the folks on my team, Ted Venema and Lance Knowlton, wrote a nice little guide for Z/OS and mainframe.

You can get to the paper here.

I hope this illuminates things a bit for those of you thinking about legacy modernization, and ways to accomplish this.

Stay tuned, the next installment will be on some of the developments and projects we've done around Oracle BI, OWB and extending the mainframe. Kind of a part two from reduction of MIPS.

I'm in Disney next week, so when I get back I'll give you report on that too.
