The following wordles were created by copying the full text of each person's convention speech into wordle. They all have the same layout but different color schemes. The concept clouds that emerge are interesting. What is YOUR analysis of the clouds? Comment away!

Obama:

Palin:

I think this is a great example about the limits of tag cloud analysis...
Just cuz you say the word "economy," doesn't mean you know what you are talking about ;-)

You make a good point. You cannot infer understanding from a single cloud analysis of a single speech. You can infer frequency, emphasis, and importance of the signifier/signified to the communicator. For instance, John McCain is fairly important to Obama based on the emphasis of both "John" and "McCain" in Obama's speech. Obama is important to Biden.

@bex lol!
@billy maybe "importance" is the wrong word. I read wordles as measures of "obsession" with any given topic;-)
Having no vote in the the US election, I tend to just hope that "the people" make historically significant choices.
What scares me is a seeing an obsession with "Country" "Americans", "fight", "war", "God" and even friggin' "nuclear", "attack" in the one wordle!!!!
