Date: November 10, 2009
Time: 11:00 am EST

Summary

Mission critical enterprise applications have to meet many exacting requirements: The customer or user base expect the application to be "performant"; the IT team that is deploying the application must ensure that the application will scale to meet the unpredictable user loads, while minimizing hardware costs; the business requires that the application is highly reliable and meet all availability KPIs.

Topics will include:
  • Discussion of Oracle's rigorous internal program called "PSR testing" (Performance, Scalability & Reliability
  • How to identify key business flows
  • Design a workload that simulates expected production loads and the different techniques for determining the P, S or R of a system
  • Best practices for how to triage and resolve issues that are identified by PSR testing will be discussed using real PSR test case situations that scaled up to thousands of concurrent users.

A short, live demonstration (only if applicable) and question and answer period will be included.
