Beginning September 25, 2009, Oracle certification exams will be offered through a new test delivery vendor – Pearson VUE -- and will no longer be available through Prometric.
Pearson VUE currently offers certification testing in more than 4,500 test centers worldwide, and we believe it will provide excellent service and global testing coverage for Oracle certification exams.
As of September 13th , candidates are no longer be able to register with Prometric (although candidates may still take their exam at Prometric through September 25th ). Registrations for Oracle exams through Pearson VUE began on September 14th, 2009. Candidates should visit pearsonvue.com/oracle to find more information, register for an exam or locate a testing center in their area. Existing Oracle exam vouchers will continue to be valid as long as they have not expired.
AFFECTED SYSTEMS
With the change from Prometric to Pearson VUE, we expect no disruption in availability of testing. However candidates should be aware of two system issues that may affect the shipment of your certificate and the timing of your certification. First, maintenance to Oracle’s certification database during the transition period may delay the shipment of your printed certificate up to two or three weeks. Second, our Hands On Course Requirement forms system will be down for maintenance from September 14 – September 28, 2009 while a new streamlined system is brought online. During the downtime, Oracle will work diligently to clear and validate all submitted forms, but no new submissions will be accepted. If you currently have an outstanding form that needs your attention, please respond to ocpreq_ww@oracle.com with the requested information as soon as possible to avoid a delay in receiving your success kit. After September 28, 2009 a new Course Submission Form will be live on the Pearson VUE website.
We have provided a series of FAQs for common questions related to the vendor change. For additional questions or further assistance, please contact Oracle Certification at ocpreq_ww@oracle.com.
We are excited about this transition, and are confident that this change will improve our service to you.

although Pearson VUE have 4500 (or perhaps 5200+ from other sources) Testing Centres not all appear to be offering Oracle Examinations. In fact the 4 Pearson VUE Centres nearest to me in the UK do not appear to be offering Oracle Examinations.
It seems reaosnable to ask why this is and what are the actual number of Pearson VUE Testing Centres actually offering Oracle Examinations.

Hello Vishal – Thank you for inquiry. Pearson VUE takes these allegations very seriously as I believe we have repeatedly demonstrated, including our recent successful investigation into improprieties by one of our testing centers that resulted in police action and a pending court case. If you know of, or have any direct evidence of improper behavior by a candidate or any of our test centers, please call our security team at PVTestSecurity@pearson.com. When candidates engage in improper behavior, with or without the assistance of a test center, it hurts everyone that has worked hard to earn their credentials. If you have specific knowledge, you should consider it your duty to help us put a stop to those that choose to operate outside of the law and to protect the integrity of these valuable industry certifications.

Does anyone ever tried taking an online exam using PearsonVue?
I took an exam this morning, and I was so frustrated with the response time of the exam. I don't know if it had something to do with PearsonVue or with the Internet/VPN connection of the pearsonvue's partner ( MISnet Philippines).
-On the average, it takes 10 seconds after clicking the "NEXT" button before the next item will be displayed.
- Worst response time is 30 secs.
- Re- Clicking the Next button skips questions.
- I also encountered being redirected to a page, wherein I was unable to click the checkbox. I left clicked the mouse and clicked the refresh button, and it worked.
- worst encountered I had is when "http connection error" in the middle of the exam. It really scares me and I really got frustrated during the exam.
- Im just glad that the timer ( upper right corner of the screen ) doesnt seems to work properly, other wise I don't think that I do have enough time to review my answers given the situation.
I plan to take another exam next year, hopefully, the connection will be a lot better by then.

Froilan,
Did you report this incident to the testing center where you took your exam? If you have issues with an exam, you should always report the issues to the testing center so that they can file an incident report. We have make Pearson VUE aware of this issue so that they can follow up with the testing center to ensure their connections are set properly to deliver online exams. Thank you for notifying us of this issue.

Hi,
I had passed my exam through vue center (Al-Horizon Institute, Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia). I was having same problem that connection was very slow. It was taking long time to switch on to next question. My exam was on 8th December, 2009.
