bigdelboy:

I read this as having slight ambiguity as to whether an exam taken on 25th september will be accepted. Some parts imply an exam on 25th september will be accepted, others imply completion must be before 25th september.

Regardless I think I would advise any candidates for this exam, (if there is in fact anyone who is affected) that they would be best advised to schedule a couple of days prior to 25th september in case there is a last minute issue at the test centre).

Hi bigdelboy – thanks for prompting the clarification; the exams are available through and including 25 September, 2009.
Cheers,
—Harold

Rakesh Tripathi:

Hi Paul,

I have a question around Oracle 11g Database OCP Certification examinations. I am unable to locate 1Z0-053 exam available for registration from Prometric website, here in the UK, whereas according to OU portal (education.oracle.com), this is available for registration.

Any clues ?

Regards,
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh – thanks for checking with us and sorry to alarm. That exam was just taken out of beta and is about to be released in live production (22 Sep 2009, I believe). I'll be announcing more details on it as we get the exact date confirmed. Looking forward to having you onboard and "Oracle Certified!"

bigdelboy:

I would imagine 1z0-053 with be a very popular examination. Releasing it on 22-sep-2009 might cause a swamp of examination takes on the last few days at prometric which may not be what you want. Also introducing it on the first day (or first couple of days) of switch to a new provider might cause a lot of issues if anything goes wrong.
