Many of us from the Oracle Certification team will be at OpenWorld this year. Since we spend much of the year communicating by email/blog/web, we get excited to meet the humans behind the emails.
So whether you’re recently certified, a certified veteran, or even just wondering about Oracle Certification, please stop and see us. You’ll find us at the OCP Lounge & Testing Center at Moscone South - Rooms 250 & 252.

Hi Paul,
After having attended the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions I will skip the 2008 edition as well as my usual question to you : "when will the 10g upgrade for 9i OCM be available"
Regards
Laurent

The conference offers an opportunity to learn more about what Oracle offers. I am excited and want to learn more about the certification.

Hi Laurent-
In response to your OCM question.
We spent so much time working on the platform for the 10g OCM (it was entirely reworkded) that we did not get a streamlined upgrade path in place for 9i OCMs.
However we are developing a one-day upgrade exam for 10g OCM to 11g OCM and will include a streamlined path for 9i OCM to 11g OCM.
The path will have three requirements:
-Upgrade to 11g OCP.
- Complete the 10g RAC or 11g RAC Expert credential (11g is not available yet).
-Pass the 1 day 11g OCM upgrade exam described above.
As for the timing, we are only now beginning the planning for the upgrade exam, which will be released first. I wouldn't dare try to predict the timing but we'll be pushing out the details on this blog, twitter (OracleCert), and our wesite.
I hope that this helps.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi paul
I have completed OCA 9i and also completed Performance Tuning training in oracle authorised center. later i was put into 10g database environment. so, Iam planned to do10g OCA and OCP, instead of writing 9i OCP. Last month i was completed both 10g certifications exams. successfully cleared both the exams.
now my question is :Already i've completed training for PT in 9i. so is it mandatory to atten training for 10g OCP also?.

Well congratulations on what sounds like the most rapid upgrade in a long time! :) You may in luck - check out the required course list for 10g at http://bit.ly/gPIn and see if you've already met the training requirements.
Cheers,

Hello Paul,
Just wondering if there are any books available that I could follow for "Oracle SOA Architect Certified Expert" certification ? My company is not gonna sponsor me for it so I cant attend the training as it'll be little too expensive for me.
Just want to know what study material sort of I could follow for Oracle "SOA Architect Certified Expert" ?
Thanks.

Hi PD - all of our exam preparation content are in the training courses referred to on the 1Z0-114 exam page ("Organization, Planning & Architectural Consideration for SOA", "Organization, Planning & Architectural Considerations for SOA - LWC SOA Architectural Concepts and Design Principles", and "SOA: Architectural Concepts and Design Principles LWC.") I'm not sure if there are third-party resources being developed elsewhere.
Cheers,
- Harold

Hi Varun - I've only worked with the Oracle materials that comes with the classes (i.e. not a download). You might also post this question over on the Certification Forum as well: http://bit.ly/HGWo.
Cheers,
- Harold
