Welcome to Oracle's Application Grid Blog

Application grid is an approach, architecture, and set of practices related to foundational middleware technologies such as application servers and transaction processing monitors. The idea is to bring to middleware grid computing's techniques of pooling resources and dynamically adjusting their allocation across demands.

Compared with traditional "dedicated stack" practices, the grid approach improves efficiency through better utilization of resources and also improves performance, reliability, and scalability.

In this blog we'll explore all of this in more detail, looking at what technologies, practices, and products are involved. It's a fairly new and emerging area, so there's lots to learn, discover, create, and even argue about! Let the games begin...
