Oracle WebLogic Server on Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud

That's right. You can now find two new Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) for Oracle WebLogic Server listed in Amazon's public AMI repository here.

In a matter of minutes, you can have a fresh fully functioning WebLogic Server environment up and running ready to host your applications. The guide provided on Oracle's Cloud Computing Center (under middleware) provides excellent instructions in getting started with the provided AMIs. The trickiest part of getting started with Amazon Web Services (AWS) will likely be connecting through your corporate firewall.

The two AMIs (32 bit & 64 bit) contain the following components:

JRockit JDK 6.0 R27.6 (Java version 1.6.0_05)
WebLogic ServerThe WebLogic Server components included in a complete WLS installation, with the exception of:
  • Server Examples
  • WebLogic Web Server Plug-ins
  • Workshop Components
WebLogic Server 10.3.0.0
