That's right. You can now find two new Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) for Oracle WebLogic Server listed in Amazon's public AMI repository here.
In a matter of minutes, you can have a fresh fully functioning WebLogic Server environment up and running ready to host your applications. The guide provided on Oracle's Cloud Computing Center (under middleware) provides excellent instructions in getting started with the provided AMIs. The trickiest part of getting started with Amazon Web Services (AWS) will likely be connecting through your corporate firewall.
The two AMIs (32 bit & 64 bit) contain the following components:
| Component | Description | Version Number |
|---|---|---|
| OEL JeOS Operating System | OEL JeOS is a headless version of the Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.2 Operating System. | Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 Update 2 JeOS-1.0.1 |
| JRockit JRE | JRockit provides the Java run-time environment for the WLS instances. The JRockit components/features provided in the following directories are not included in the AMI:
| JRockit JDK 6.0 R27.6 (Java version 1.6.0_05) |
| WebLogic Server | The WebLogic Server components included in a complete WLS installation, with the exception of:
| WebLogic Server 10.3.0.0 |
