Where did we place our Agile PLM Software?

Since Agile was purchased by Oracle last year, the download location of our documentation and software has merged into the Oracle system. We are now using Oracle Edelivery, Oracle Technology Network, and Metalink. Continue reading to better understand when we are using the different Oracle locations, including the location for Agile PLM 9.2.2.5.

On the Agile 9.x platform, full versions of 9.2.2.1 and 9.2.2.4 are posted on Edelivery at http://edelivery.oracle.com/. These should be considered Minor Releases in Oracle terms with New Features as well as defect fixes and a full installation. In addition, Metalink hosts software for Engineering Collaboration, Analytics, Viewer, and other products which are sold. Edelivery is the starting place for downloading software.

For service packs SP2 (9.2.2.2) and SP3 (9.2.2.3), we also posted them to Edelivery since they contained defect fixes and some limited New Features. These SPs can be applied to 9.2.2.1 without a full installation. While there were valid reasons for using Edelivery for SP2 and SP3, our content for service packs has changed to be solely focused on Defects.

Because of the content change, Service Pack 5 for the 9.2.2.4 installation is posted to Metalink as Patchset 7301266. Customer specific or generally available Hot Fixes are also posted to Metalink. When using service packs or hot fixes from Metalink, you will be applying them to previously installed software downloaded from Edelivery.

Agile PLM Documentation is available on Oracle Technology Network (OTN) at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/agile.html. While Edelivery has Documentation available for download, the latest versions are always available on OTN. The documentation on Edelivery will not be updated after initially posted.

Agile eXpress is also available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/agile/index.html.

I hope you find useful this quick introduction to how Agile PLM is using various Oracle sites. You should expect future 9.2.2.x SPs to be published to Metalink. In addition, our next major release should update and improve the version number to make it more understandable which releases have New Features in addition to defect fixes.
