I have bought a China made USB sound device for my HP ML 115 server that
cost me less than USD 15 because of this smart server does not have a common PCI
slot. I have installed 3 operating systems in this server, Windows XP SP2, Windows 2003 SP2 and Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.
Guess what I can hear the sound from the USB sound device when I run
Windows XP and Windows 2003 but unfortunately not for Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.
Finally, Oracle released a new version of Enterprise Linux, version 5 in
last quarter 2007. I have downloaded and installed it. Bet what I can hear the
sound from the USB sound device when I use Oracle Enterprise Linux 5. I can hear
the sound from the cheap China made sound device lastly.
